How to Blend Lawn Care and Landscaping
We speak of the two topics as though they are one, though lawns are entirely vegetative, whereas the landscape includes inclines, drainage, rock formations, and water bodies. It is true that lawn care and landscaping are related as far as the time and budgets of home owners are concerned, but not everyone has the combination of biology and engineering knowledge to merge the two streams together.
Lawn care and landscaping causes extremes of joy and grief, and sometimes not too far apart! Everyone has an opinion, though little of it may be within limits of the possible. Inclement weather or voracious pests can wipe away months of work in hours, and final outputs can be very different from what you had in mind. Then there are unspoken battles with neighbors and with friends as well, most of who manage to ferret out your secrets while giving little away!
The Effects of Seasons and Local Conditions on Lawn Care and Landscaping
Do you live by the sea, or at a serious altitude? Are you in the path of hurricanes, and do your neighbors breed bugs in their mulch heaps? Does your neighborhood have extremes of heat and cold, and what kind of average rainfall can you expect? Are pesticide drift and run-off banned by local councils, and how much time can you set aside for weeding and other resource-intensive aspects of upkeep? Are the boundaries of your property clear, or do you need to plant trees and shrubs to improve barrier and privacy conditions?
It should come as no surprise that consultancies and contractors for lawn care and landscaping abound and thrive in most suburban areas. This was once the almost sole preserve of large corporations with bulging wallets to make their headquarters look plush and green. However, urbanization trends leave home owners with insufficient time to look after their greenery and landscapes, and bereft of new developments and technologies which invade what used to be a simple hobby.
How Lifestyles Affect Lawn Care and Landscaping
It is one thing to admire well manicured lawns from a distance, and another to subject them to heavy-duty use for social occasions, apart from the demands of children and pets. Lawn care and landscaping are easier when you are in regular residence, but all available time can be taken up by maintenance, leaving nothing for sheer enjoyment, in the case of week-end escapes and get-away sites. This does put premiums on dependable contractors, for nothing can beat driving in to a quick interlude in an immaculately kept property.
